Good Health comes from good lifestyle practices!
Ladies Wing takes pleasure to invite you to spend a day with renowned Yoga practitioner Mr. Jehangir Palkhivala. Being the disciple of Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar, he was accustomed to ways that were severe and conventional. The true impact of yoga is better understood, he explains, when one understands that yoga is nothing but "unity", derived from the word "Yuj" and yoga is life itself. He believes that to treat yoga as a power building technique is to belittle its virtues, as it is yoga which creates the positive vibes, when practiced with compassion.
Do not miss this rare opportunity to learn from the “EXPERT” himself about common modern ailments related to knees, lower back, shoulder and acidity and treat yourself through yoga. Another important factor to stay healthy is the MIND QUOTIENT which will be addressed by him. This workshop will be held at Ruia House, Alibaug and which is hosted by Mrs. Amla Ruia.
The members are requested to carry their own hats, yoga mats, water bottles and wear comfortable shoes and leisure wear for yoga.

Most people believe that paying their taxes diligently and timely will help them to get a good night's sleep and so they discharge their tax liability year after year by paying income tax on time. However, many taxpayers remain ignorant about paying another form of tax which is charged on the assets gathered by them – i.e. Wealth Tax, the less famous sibling of income tax.
Mr. K. V. Chowdary, Chairman of Central Board of direct taxes (CBDT) the top policy making body of the Income Tax department will speak to the members on issues pertaining to tax. The talk will highlight concerns regarding taxation incentives for women entrepreneurs, wealth tax on jewellery inheritance, taxation issues regarding gifts of properties to children living abroad, and several other issues relating to income and wealth tax issues for women.
Mr. K. V. Chowdary has earlier served as the Director General of I-T (Investigations) in the national capital where he headed a number of high-profile tax probes, including the 2G spectrum allocation case and the HSBC Geneva taxpayers list along with a number of cases dealing with blackmoney and tax evasion.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you will go.”
The book club of the ladies’ wing brings to you another masterpiece novella Broken Nest by Rabindranath Tagore.
This selection of Rabindranath Tagore's stories exemplifies his remarkable ability to enter the complexities of human relationships. Within seemingly simple plots, Tagore portrays with extraordinary compassion and lyricism the predicament of women in traditional Bengali contexts.
This sensitively-written 72-page novella, Broken Nest (Nastanir), is said to be semi-autobiographical and was made into the movie Charulata by Satyajit Ray featuring Soumitra Chatterjee, Madhabi Mukherjee and Sailen Mukherjee.

SWelcome to the first ever Book Club initiated by the Ladies’ Wing to enable members to analyze books in a structured yet informal and interesting way.
Great Books invite us to put aside for a while our way of looking at the world and to enter someone else’s perspective—a perspective that is much larger, deeper, and more thought out than our own.
The first masterpiece to be discussed is the novel 'Ice-Candy Man' by the Pakistani - American author Bapsi Sidhwa. This is the first novel by a female novelist from Pakistan which deals with the partition of India and its aftermaths and describes the fate of people in Lahore. The novel deals with "the partition of India through the eyes of a girl Lenny growing up in a Parsee family, surviving through female bonding and rebellion.
An absorbing and well-reviewed book, it has been described as both hilarious and heartbreaking. The novel was adapted by Deepa Mehta for the movie Earth which starred Amir Khan, Nandita Das, Rahul Khanna amongst others.

Are you unsure about complex legalities involved with property matters?
One of the most fundamental requirements of a society —is a strong system of property rights. Most of the people are unacquainted of their legal rights to land and property, and the process to assert and defend land claims can sometimes get very lengthy. Although India has a very clear-cut and investor friendly land laws, not following them can however land one in a lot of legal hassles.
Senior Advocate and Solicitor, Parimal Shroff will guide us and answer questions to help us minimize risks when buying property. Mr. Shroff is an eminent real estate lawyer in Mumbai and has vast knowledge and experience in this field. He heads the law firm of Parimal Shroff and Company.

Spirituality differs from person to person. For some, it's about participating in organized religion: going to shrines. For others, it's more personal: Some people get in touch with their spiritual side through prayer, yoga, meditation, and for some it is the search to know our real self, to discover the true nature of consciousness.
We take great pleasure to inform you that Sister Shivani, who daily imbibes knowledge to several people through her "Awakening with Brahma Kumaris", aired on Astha channel will address all of us at IMC.
Sister Shivani completed her Electronics Engineering graduate degree as a Gold Medalist from Pune University in 1994. She was honored with Mumbai Women of the Decade Achievers Award by ASSOCHAM Ladies League for her Excellence in Empowering Spiritual Consciousness.
She will be speaking about her philosophy in disseminating humanity through spirituality to people from all walks of life across the world. Spirituality here does not equate to any particular religion; it is about righteousness and a way of life.
Do not miss the opportunity to interact with her!!!
We look forward to see you in large number. Prior registration is advisable.

"Raise the Red Lantern" – A Tale of Beauty and Passion.
We cordially invite you for the screening of the Oscar nominated movie “Raise the Red Lantern”
This sumptuously photographed drama, set in Northern China in the 1920s is based on the novel -Wives and Concubines by Su Tong. The story of the film depicts the travails of a concubine who has just joined the household of a rich family. Raise the Red Lantern's true subject is the wives/concubines who vie for his attention, hoping that the lanterns will be lit at their house indicating his favour. The movie is a masterpiece of 1990s. It is pure cinema. In Raise the Red Lantern that very expressive yearning for something more in life, something beyond the present circumstances, is what dominates the visual expression.
Come and enjoy the classic with one and all!!!

With today’s hectic lifestyles, we rarely allow ourselves time to just sit back, relax and breathe deeply. Unmanaged stress can change the internal environment of the human body and cause major imbalances and diseases. Aromatherapy and Color Therapy are two fields of alternative medicine which help to de-stress and promote a sense of well being and calmness.
Aromatic plant extracts have been used in medicine for thousands of years, to improve health and restore balance to the body. Each extract has different therapeutic properties to address various imbalances by triggering the body’s natural healing process. It has been known for eons that color plays a major role in setting up a particular state of mind. Color can affect one's feelings, moods and emotions. Using and avoiding certain colors is a way of self-expression; it sheds light on our personality.
Come and be a part of this Aromatherapy and Color Therapy session to understand what suits your personality the best and learn how you can live a healthier life. You can learn how to balance your Chakras through basic scents and colors depending on the results of your personality test that Omved will conduct in this session.
'To live and let live in complete consciousness' is the founding principle of Omved. It is their firm conviction that everyone can benefit from the Vedic traditions of India. Omved strives to create and sustain a world where each of its products is natural, handcrafted, fair trade, made in India and biodegradable.

Dentists are perhaps the most feared of all medical professionals, yet a beautiful smile and healthy teeth are often the very basic needs for our happiness and social acceptance. Healthy teeth not only enable us to look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly as well.
Dentistry encompasses a wide variety of procedures both functional and cosmetic which are painless and have extremely predictable outcomes. A glowing, healthy and vibrant smile is no longer the exclusive privilege of millionaires and movie stars. The field of dentistry is growing in leaps and bounds, and newer technologies allow dentists to offer patients endless treatment possibilities for all types of oral and dental concerns.
Dentist Dr. Radhika Parekh completed her masters in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Implantology, which encompasses the branch of dentistry that not only deals with the replacement of missing teeth by way of dental implants, but also with cosmetic procedures for aligning teeth such as porcelain laminate veneers and smile designing. In this session, she will be discussing the latest trends in cosmetic dentistry and implantology as well as the scope and benefits of routine dental treatment and the changing impact it can have on one’s health and social well-being. She will also share some valuable tips on teeth and gum friendly foods and eating habits.
