MS. ARTI SANGHI - President

Ms. Arti Sanghi was born and raised in Jammu. She moved to Mumbai in 1969 after her marriage to Arun Sanghi. She is a mother of 3 and a proud Grand mother of 3.

Arun is a Partner/Director of the Sah & Sanghi Group (Premier dealers of automobiles and air conditioning in India). Sah & Sanghi group represents Maruti Suzuki in cars and Daikin, Carrier and Voltas for their air conditioner sales and service. One of its group companies, Tyresoles is the largest Tyre Retreader in India with plants in Belgaum, Goa, Jabalpur and Hyderabad. The Sah & Sanghi group also manufacturers epoxy floorings for ships & industrial floorings and sports surfaces.

For several years Arti worked in the family business and has now taken time off to pursue her other interests.

As an active member of the Ladies Wing of the Indian Merchants Chamber, Arti has chaired several Committees such as Religion & Philosophy, NGO and Environment. She has also co-chaired the Exhibition Committee and has been a member of the Executive Council for several years.

Arti was President of the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay (affiliated to the Rotary Club of Bombay and one of the largest in the country) in 2002 – 2003. The Inner Wheel works for the upliftment of the poor and underprivileged by providing facilities such as free education, medical aid, rain water harvesting and micro credit. Arti has actively participated in many of these projects and often travels to Panvel where some of the rural projects are concentrated. She is a Trustee of the Inner wheel Club of Bombay Charities Trust.

She is also an active member of Indus International where she served as the Treasurer from 2006-2008, besides chairing several other committees. Indus International provides a cultural opportunity for Indian and expat women for joint participation in activities of mutual interest to promote understanding between Countries.

As a concerned Citizen of Mumbai, Arti is actively involved in the Nariman Point Churchgate Citizens Association (NPCCA), a citizens’ group involved of the Managing Committee of the Group.

She is also on the Executive Committee of WOMEN’S INDIA BUILD under the umbrella of Habitat for Humanity which builds homes for the poor and needy.

Arti is a qualified teacher of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. She enjoys Yoga, Aerobics and Jewelry designing in her spare time. She is deeply religious and is a reader of religious and philosophy books.
